NCAAB: The Best and Worst ATS in 2011-2012

With less than a month until March Madness begins, well take a look at the best and worst college basketball teams against the spread for the 2011-2012 season. At this point in the year, the best performing teams ATS (Against The Spread) can be viewed as overachievers since theyre continually performing well regardless of the line that sportsbooks are posting. Contrarily, teams towards the bottom of the pack of the ATS standings could be seen as underachievers since they consistently fall short of covering the number that sportsbooks make.

Eager returns

With seven points ahead of fourth placed Chelsea the Spurs look well on their way for a return to the Champions League next season. Liverpool have been doing well in domestic cups but that will only guarantee an Europa League berth. Suarez is eager to get back on the field after an eight-match ban. At least with him on the pitch the Reds used to seem close to netting more goals, although they eventually still failed to be concrete enough. In the NFL giving guys that have been through 1000 on the field car-wrecks a couple weeks off can only do wonders for their physical well-being. The Packers have done this before, remember, won big games in the post-season – I think they know what they’re dealing with.

The Giants have been very good of late, riding a late season hot streak into the playoffs. It show

NFL Playoff Betting Trends: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos

In this highly anticipated playoff matchup, the Pittsburgh Steelers opened as an 8-point favorite at the market-setting Cris sportsbook and, according to Sports Insights’ NFL Betting Trends, is currently receiving 56% of all spread bets. The public betting percentages were nearly even, but the line still dropped to -7.5 indicating that sharp money is taking Denver.

While Tim Tebow always seems to grab the headlines, Jay Glazer reported that Denver would be using Brady Quinn on 3rd downs and they could use the former Notre Dame standout more if Tebow struggles early.

Injuries will also play a large role in this game as both teams are dealing with a litany of health concerns. The

Big promotion in the City

This is not a good time for Mancini’s City with a run of results that contrasts markedly with that which opened their campaign this season. Coming from a highly undeserved defeat at the hands of Sunderland they will, however, be buoyed for an immediate comeback. Liverpool will have other plans though and with Dalglish now able to count on both his star names, Suarez and Gerrard, the Reds will be an unwelcome guest at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night. will match any bet on the game placed before kick off up to €25.
